These reels must meet: 1) Federal Specification W-R-175/6A for reels and hubs for magnetic recording tape; 2) Military Specification MIL-R-214; and 3) Military Specification MIL-E-1755. These tapes are to be delivered to Haystack Observatory/MIT, Westford, MA. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The following are incorporated by reference through clause 52.212-5: 52.222-26, 52.222-35, 52.222-36, and 52.222-37. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3695 and 1000, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 920-79684-902 is on or about 9-22-98 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about 10-9-98.
