The Bureau of Reclamation is interested in locating sources capable of performing the following work: The overall objectives of the procurement are to determine the effects of prescribed fires on the utilization of marsh vegetation by Yuma clapper rails and other marsh birds. The Contractor shall be required to develop a study plan which includes a schedule of burning and monitoring, field activities to conduct the study, and reporting, and to perform the study to achieve those goals. These studies shall be performed in various locations within the Lower Colorado River basin. The proposed contract time is one calendar year plus four 1-year option periods. Total contract time is not to exceed five years. Sources who believe they have the capability to perform the work shall respond by e-mail to kcole@lc.usbr.gov, or facsimile to (702) 293-8499, by 3:00 p.m., PDT, September 15, 1998. With its response, each source shall provide information outlining its capability to perform the work, including but not limited to: (1) knowledge of the work required; (2) any previous experience in performing similar work; and (3) any other information which would demonstrate the source's qualifications to perform the work. Sources shall also indicate if they customarily offer services identical or similar to the services required in this notice in the commercial marketplace, and if so, any customary practices involved in offering the services.
