The Federal Bureau of Prisons' Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC), located in New York, New York, requires an individual to provide religious services, programs and counseling for its Protestant female inmate population. These requirements will be solicited under Request For Quotations (RFQ) number RFQ 158-0038-8. The Government estimates, but can not guarantee, that the work schedule will consist of one service per week. The schedule may be subject to some variation as the needs of the MCC vary. Each service will consist of three concurrent sessions (each session equals a one-hour length of time). In any event, the individual performing the services shall not exceed thirty (30) hours of performance per week. The individual providing these services must hold a degree and working toward, or possesses, a deaconial or M.Div. from a qualified and accredited theological institution or seminary. Experience in counseling, crises intervention and experience in correctional setting providing religious/spiritual guidance is helpful. The base period of performance would begin on the date of contract award through a one-year period. Four additional one-year option periods may be exercised in accordance with the terms of the resulting contract. The RFQ issue date is anticipated to be September 18, 1998 and the response date is anticipated to be October 7, 1998. It is the responsibility of prospective quoters to verify these dates.
