ERROR --, lambertj@soc.mil. This is a notice of intent to negotiate a
contract on a sole source basis with Stevens Aviation, Inc., P.O. Box
12349, Greenville, SC 29612-0349 to provide the folowing
services/supplies: Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as required on
Aircraft PA-31T Piper Cheyenne II, SN 85-51609 for the period 1 October
1998 through 30 September 1999 (or date of award subsequent thereto)for
the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, NC 28307 (This is
the aircraft's homebase). This includes all parts and labor required to
maintain the aircraft to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the
U.S. Army Standards. THIS WILL BE A TIME AND MATERIALS TYPE CONTRACT.
Labor hours are to be proposed as loaded (with Overhead and General &
Administrative (G&A) Expense (if any) included. The following is a
brief (but not inclusive) description of services/supplies: (a.)
Maintenance -- Receiving, de-cowling, cleaning, inspection, replacing
oil, fuel, air, and hydraulic filters, and final inspection for
100-Hour Events and unscheduled maintenance. Routine service bulletins
and repairs that are considered minor, such as inspecting, shall be
included at a flat rate labor charge. (b.) Avionics Support -- maintain
and repair the basic communication, navigation, and weather radar as
defined in their particular illustrated parts and maintenance manuals
for each particular instrument/radio/telephone (Bendix Autopilot,
Bendix Radar, King Avionics, Wolfsburg Flight Fone). (c.) Parts --
includes procurement, overhaul, and repair of spare parts to maintain
the aircraft spare parts stock to an acceptable level. (d.) Engine
Hot-Section Inspection and Repair -- includes the labor to perform
engine hot section inspection as required by Pratt and Whitney (engine
manufacturer) or as deemed necessary by engine performance (cost of
parts to repair hot section IS NOT INCLUDED). Repair facility must be
within One (1) Hour Flying Time of Fort Bragg, NC 28307, the home base
of PA-31T Piper Cheyenne II aircraft SN: 85-51609. Interested parties
may identify interest and capability by submitting technical and
pricing data within 15 days of publication of this notice. This notice
of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all
proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this
synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the
Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses
to this notice is soley within the descretion of the Government.
Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose
of determing whether to conduct a competitive procurement.***** Posted
