wbranchflower@peacecorps.gov. Peace Corps anticipates a need for a
qualified individual (not an organization or company ) to be the Sub
Regional Program and Training Coordinator (PTO) to provide technical
support in training and programming for its programs in five to seven
African countries. Interested individuals should respond to this notice
as no other solicitation will be issued. Contractor will be based in
Benin but at least 60% of the contractor's time will be spent traveling
to other Peace Corps Posts within the sub region. Contractor will:
conduct annual assessments of each post's training program and prepare
a training development plan for each country in the sub-region; plan.
organize and conduct courses in trainer development, training
management, training design and evaluation; establish and maintain a
talent bank of local trainers, programmers, evaluators and other
technical assistance providers; coordinate sub regional conferences and
special focus workshops; collaborate with Peace Corps sector
specialists and the Regional P&T Unit to plan, organize and implement
conferences and workshops ; assist in the design and implementation of
program and training monitoring and evaluation tools and conduct
workshops as necessary; establish and maintain a sub-regional resource
center and coordinate the collection and dissemination of materials;
analyze and prepare reports on sub regional programming and training
activities. Contractor must have a minimum of 10 years Peace Corps
training experience, particularly with ESL or TEFL, with increasing
responsibility. Fluency in written and oral French is required.
Contract period of performance will be for a minimum of 30 months
starting 12/1/98. Housing and transportation will be provided. Some
personal hardship and lack of modern conveniences should be expected.
The successful candidate will need a security clearance. Interested
