The US Department of Justice, Justice Management Division, Facilities and Administration Services Staff (FASS), intends to issue an IFB for the removal and replacement of roofs for three buildings located at the US Border Patrol Academy. The Academy is located at the Charleston Navy Yard in Charleston, South Carolina. Contractor shall supply all equipment, materials, supplies, tools, and personnel necessary for complete removal and demolition of existing roofing, flashings, gutters, down spouts, and roofing accessories and to furnish and install new roofing systems for the three buildings. The three buildings have dimensions of 27,500, 32,000, and 60,000 square feet respectively. Contract work shall have minimum impact to the operations of the existing facility. All three buildings may be worked on simultaneously, providing adequate supervision is provided for three separate work sites. The required roofing materials will be a 2-Ply SBS Modified Bitumen Roofing System. Award will only be made to one company under this IFB. The estimated magnitude of this project is $500,000 to $1,000,000. The SIC code is 1761. Estimated issue date is October 01, 1998, with a due date for receipt of bids and bid opening 30 days after issuance. There will also be a pre-bid walk through for all interested contractors around October 21, 1998. Construction documents will be provided with the IFB.
