E-MAIL: Mammoth Cave National Park Contracting Office, john_beaver@nps.gov. The project includes installation of an exposed aggregate concrete walkway approximately 250 feet long and six feet wide. The walk will be elevated by a soil berm, due to potential disturbance of prehistoric and historic artifacts. Fill dirt is needed to build the berm. Due to sensitivity of archeological and biological resources, only approved soil can be used (available from a local farm). A platform area will be constructed of exposed aggregate concrete, adjacent to the end of the described walkway. The platform is also adjacent to the Old Guide's Cemetery. The deck is designed as a semi-circle with an area of 416 square feet. A soil berm must also be built to support the deck area. Reseeding of exposed berm will be necessary. Conduit will be installed under/in aggregate concrete areas for future lighting needs. Project is located in Mammoth Cave National Park, Edmonson County, Kentucky.
