NASA/GSFC plans to extend Contract No. NAS5-32600 entitled "Multidisciplinary Development for the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Engineering Directorate" with Jackson and Tull Chartered Engineers on a sole source basis. This extension will be for a three month basic period with two options for three additional months each. The contract currently extends through October 7, 1998. The follow-on contract is expected to be in place in January 1999. This extension will provide continued performance during the interim period until the new competitive procurement is awarded. Jackson and Tull is uniquely qualified to perform this requirement, due to its current involvement in critical flight programs such as MAP, EOS-PM, EOS-AM, POES, NANOSAT, NMP EO-1, NGST, STIS, GLAS, Hitchhiker, Landsat-7, and HST. Jackson and Tull has the expertise and knowledge necessary to continue the testing and development of these complex systems to meet critical schedules for the flight projects during this interim period. The statutory authority for Other Than Full and Open Competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(d)(1)(B), Unnaceptable Delays.
