This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-5 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. This acquisition is unrestricted; the standard industrial classification code is 7699. The acquisition is for Line Item 0001 -- repair and/or replacement of various models of borescopes, as follows (model numbers are Olympus America's): 16-each borescopes, model numbers -- 6650-01-XXX-XXXX; 1-each Videoimagescope, model number -- IV6C5-20; 1-each Camera Control Unit, 1-each model number -- IV-5A; 1-each Light Source, model number -- ILV-2; 1-each TV Camera, OTC-5; 1-each Rigid Borescope, model number -- Series 5; 1-each Light Source, model number -- ILK-C; 1-each LCD Color Monitor, model number -- FDL-X40. The model numbers provided above are meant to show the Government's minimum requirements. Offerors can quote on repair and/or replacement with like items, but must submit evidence of capability of repairing said items and compatibility of replacements. Offerors quoting equals must provide descriptive literature to the extent necessary to allow the Government to determine the technical acceptability of the equal item. Required performance period is October 01, 1998 -- September 30, 1999; service repairs and/or replacements must be delivered to Edwards AFB CA 93524 within 60 days of receipt of defective borescope equipment.
