This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. RFQ 557-15-98 is issued as a request for quotation usind simplified acquisition procedures. The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, Dublin, GA intends to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, with MC Strategies, Inc., 495 Circle 85, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30349-6001 for the following (1) Educode Interactive Multimedia Training Courses for use at the 9 VISN 7 facilities: MR101 Basic IDC-9-CM & Ambulatory Coding MR 201 Intermediate Coding-1 MR202 Intermediate Coding -- 2 MR203 Intermediate Coding -- 3 MR204 Intermediate Coding -- 4 MR301 Advance Coding for Reimbursement MR302 Advance Coding -- II MR401 HCPCS/CPT Coding -- II MR903 1988 ICD-0-CM Coding & DRG Changes MR904 1998 HCPCS/CPT Changes BT101 Basic Medical Terminology . To be distributed as follows to VISN 7 VA Medical Centers: 1 of each course to Atlanta, GA; Charleston, SC; Columbia, SC; Dublin, GA; and Tuscaloosa, AL; 2 of each course to Augusta, GA and Central Alabama; and 3 of each course to Birmingham, AL . All deliveries to be made by September 30, 1998. NOTE: YEAR 2000 COMPLIANCE FAR 39.106 (1) Requires that information technology shall be Year 2000 compliant; or (2) requires that non-compliant information technology be upgraded to be Year 2000 compliant to the earlier of (i) the earliest date on which the information technology may be required to perform date/time processing involving dates later than December 31, 1999, or (ii) December 31, 1999; and as appropriate, describe existing information technology that will be used with the information technology acquired and identify whether the existing information technology is Year 2000 compliant.
