The U.S. Penitentiary, Leavenworth KS, is soliciting a contractor to remove lead based paint from Building #63 and the exterior cab of Tower #3, and also to abate asbestos from the ceiling of one staff residence. The lead paint removal is estimated in the range of 1800 -- 2500 square feet; the asbestos abatement is estimated in the range of 1600 -- 1800 square feet. A site visit will be held at 9:00 a.m., Monday, 10/5/98; while not mandatory, potential offerors are encouraged to attend. The solicitation packet will be issued on or about 9/23/98, with a response date for offers scheduled for 10/13/98. No phone requests for the solicitation packet will be accepted.
