Department of Commerce, NOAA, Aviation Weather Center intends to issue
a contract to Telonics of Messa, Arizona for four Geostationary
Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) receivers with 70 MhzIF. The
receivers are required to replace ageing equipment to receive GOES
data. This equipment is compatible with existing Ingest hardware, which
is made by the same manufacturer. Input and output is 100% compatible
with existing hardware. The GOES System is the Nation's civil space
resource for observing meteorological events in real time and for
providing continuous observations and communications services from
space. In addition, GOES provides a platform for solar observations,
data collection and other environment observations. The Government
intends to solicit to only one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C.
253(c)(1). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive
proposals. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this
announcement within 15 days of its publication and shall submit in
writing, it's name, address, point of contact, telephone number,
business size and a brief statement regarding it's capability to
provide the specified service and the names, telephone numbers, and
points of contact for businesses or other Government agencies to which
it has previously provided similar services. No response will be
provided to those inquiries which fail to provide the information
requested. This information shall be submitted to the address stated
herein or may be faxed to 816-426-7530. This is not a request for
proposals and there is no Request for Quotation at this time. A
determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is
solely within the discretion of the Government. The Standard Industrial
Classification Code is 4899. The small business standard is $11.0
million. This is not a small-business set-aside. The receivers will be
purchased under the guidelines of FAR, Part 13, Simplified
