This solicitation uses the metric system. The project consists of reconstructing the roadway and embankment till. The work includes breading all rock larger than 500 mm found in the failure area, as well as hazardous boulders removed form the cut bank above the slide, and keying the rock fragments into the eroded gully and into the bottom of the fill reconstruction. An estimated 3,250 cubic meters of rock and earth embankment material will be needed (Cross-section volume, no shrink or swell is applied). in addition to the rock on site, approximately 4,700 cubic meters (as measured in the stockpile) of usable earth embankment material will be stockpiled by others in the right lane beginning near Site 18 and extending below Site 18. This stockpile of material is available for the earth embankment required for the repair of Site 18 and Site 19 (Site 19 work will beperformed by others under a separate contract). The repair site will require erosion control devices consisting of silt fence, rice straw bales, and the maintenance of erosion control devices, including those installed by others to contain sediment from the stockpiled embankment material. The site will not require final turf establishment. The site will require the placement of aggregate base, the installation of a pipe culvert above the failure site, the installation of an underdrain system in the cut bank ditch, and the installation of a riprap apron. Asphalt paving will be done by others. The site is located on the Wright's Lake Road, approximately 55 Kilometers east of Placerville, CA on U.S. 50. The Wright's Lake Road intersects U.S. 50 on the north side. Approximately 0.8 Kilometers north of U.S. 50, the road is closed to traffic during construction. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. This procurement will be a small purchase based on the rules and regulations of (FAR Part 13).
