Cobert, Contracting Officer, 202-287-3343 The Smithsonian Institution is seeking proposals to furnish all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment required for elevator, escalator, dumbwaiter and handicapped lift inspection services, for various Smithsonian facilities located in the Washington DC metropolitan area; Edgewater, Maryland; and New York City, New York. The American Standard Practice for the Inspection of Elevators, Inspector's Manual ASME/ANSI, A17.2 -- 1979, (or latest edition), and the American National Standard Code for Elevators, Escalators, Dumbwaiters, and moving walks -- ASME/ANSI, A17.1 -- 1978 (or latest edition), will be used by the successful offeror as a guide in making inspections and recommendations. The successful offeror must be a District of Columbia approved certified elevator inspection company.
