PROPRIETARY SOFTWARE UPGRADES AND MAINTENANCE The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to issue on a sole-source basis under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures an order with QBIC III Systems, Inc. of Columbia, Maryland for upgrades on three QBIC CMMS Systems at SSA, including upgrades for 10 concurrent users, 5 concurrent users, and 2 concurrent users (standalone system). Upgrades include QBICFLEX Upgrade, node cost, data conversion, network installation, node installation, and annual maintenance. To the Government's knowledge, QBIC III Systems, Inc. is the only known source that can provide the required items, as the software is proprietary to QBIC III Systems and hence not available through dealers or other third parties. This is not a request for quotations nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto shall not be honored or acknowledged. Any responsible firm that feels it has the capability to provide the required upgrades and other items to SSA may write to the referenced contracting officer. All responses must be received by September 11, 1998. Respondents should refer to QBIC98-JCE. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. If no affirmative written responses are received by the due date indicating that a comparable source exists, an order will be placed with QBIC III Systems for the requirements stated above.
