The Air Force is seeking sources for this project which shall include but not limited to demolition (including asbestos and lead base paint abatement), site preparations, utilities, and complete renovation of the exterior and interior of 34 military family housing units at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. Options include 2 additional units, and miscellaneous site work. The results of this effort shall be a complete and ready for occupancy family housing area. A solicitation shall be issued in compliance with Public Law 100-656, Business Opportunity Development Program Act of 1988, establishin a test of unrestricted competition. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 1521. The estimated cost of construction is between $5 and $10 MILLION DOLLARS. The performance period is 365 calendar days. This is a best value solicitation in which an offeror's past performance, experience, and price will be considered. This solicitation will be issued on or about 22 Sep 98. The closing date shall be 30 calendar days after the issue date. The solicitation package shall include a drawing set of approximately 147 sheets with technical provisions of approximately 344 pages. The solicitation and specifications will be available on the internet at the following address: http://www.hickam.af.mil/Public/Cons/. Prospective bidders will be asked to register at the above referenced web site. A list of all registered prospective bidders will also be available at this site. The drawings will not be available on the internet. Drawings may be obtained by request in writing to the 15th Contracting Squadron/LGCC (Attn: Les Hashimoto), 90 G St., Bldg. 1201, Hickam AFB, HI 96853-5230 or by e-mail to HashimoL@wpgate.hickam.af.mil. Request must include the solicitation number, project number and title, company's name, address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, business size, and company designation (prime contractor, subcontractor, supplier, or plan room). The drawings shall be provided on Compact Disks-Read Only Memory (CD-ROM) which shall also include the solicitation and specifications. The CD-ROM's shall be issued on a "first come, first serve basis", until the supply is exhausted. There will be no charge, however, only one CD-ROM will be issued per contractor.
