The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command intends to negotiate a
contract modification to contract N00039-97-D-0013 with Raytheon
Systems Company, 1001 Boston Post Rdl, Marlborough MA 01752. This
modification will establish a vehicle for procuring Navy Extremely High
Frequency (EHF) Satellite Program (NESP) TDMA Interface Processor (TIP)
interface card. The NESP TDMA TIP interface card is a small mezzanine
circuit board that mounts on the TIP. The TIP/NESP interface card
connects the NESP terminal to the TIP through a KIV-7HAS crypto. This
interface passes timing information to the TIP. This timing
information, which is derived from the terminal, is passed on unique
interface lines to the TIP. The interface mezzanine card is the part of
the TIP which provides an interconnection between users and the Navy
EHF USC-38(V) Satellite Communication (SATCOM) Program (NESP) terminal.
The TIP is a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) controller -- MILSTAR
frames or time slots are shared among several users. This means it is
critical the TIP receive timing information, via this mezzanine card,
from the terminal. The interface requires unique hardware, not only in
the NESP terminal, but also in the TIP. The Standard Industrial
Classification Code is 3663. See numbered Note 22. Posted 09/08/98
