The National Cemetery System is seeking potential sources for proposed contract covering grounds maintenance and select cemetery operations at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2191 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX. This new cemetery is tentatively scheduled to open in mid to late summer 1999. Work covered by the contract will include: Grounds maintenance operations (mowing, trimming, grave maintenance, irrigation management, fertilization/soil amendments, aeration, thatching, integrated pest management, tree/shrub maintenance and curb edging); Headstone and grave marker operations (receiving, setting, raising, realigning and cleaning); and Facility maintenance (floral pick-up; debris maintenance; snow/ice removal and custodial services). In addition to seeking potential sources, the National Cemetery System has a draft Request for Proposals (RFP) covering these services available for industry review and comment. Solicitation No. RFP 786-DRAFT-1-99 is available from the issuing office by telephone, fax or electronic mail. This is a draft solicitation only. Pricing and technical proposals are not being requested at this time. The draft solicitation will not be faxed in response to requests, but is available via electronic mail. Hard copies of the draft solicitation will be issued via the ordinary mails. Please provide the complete name and mailing address of the individual/firm requesting the draft solicitation. Comments pertaining to the draft solicitation may be e-mailed or faxed to the issuing office until 4:30 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday, October 5, 1998.
