Sage, ksage@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to place a purchase order Sole Source to Primex Technologies, St. Marks, FL, for 10,000 pounds of flash suppressed WC844/WC732 propellant. This effort is to evaluate flash suppressed WC844/WC732 as an alternate for M1 propellant as the main charge propellant in the Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS) XM231 propelling charge. The composition of the propellant is a double based propellant with a web size of 0.013 and a cut size of 0.025/0.018. This sample will be evaluated for ballistic performance. The contractor shall deliver 1,000 pounds of the propellant to ARDEC and 9,000 pounds to Yuma Proving Ground, AZ, 45 days after contract award. See numbered Notes 22 and 26.
