Government intends to procure training classes for 12 Government
personnel under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This is a combined
synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is
M00681-98-Q-M20370 and this is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This
solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect
through FAC 97-06 and DAC 91-13. This is an unrestricted procurement;
the standard industrial code is 8243 and the small business size
standard is $5 million. Contractor shall be certified, if applicable,
from the manufacturer to teach these courses and follow the
manufacturer's training syllabus: Solaris 2.6 System Administration I,
Sun Course SA-235; Solaris 2.6 System Administration II, Sun Course
SA-286; Solaris 2.6 Network Administration, Sun Course SA-380; SQL
Administration, Sybase SY-100; Internetworking, Cisco Course CI-200;
and Fault Analysis Workshop, Sun Course ST-350. All responsible sources
may submit an offer by providing proof of certification to teach these
classes by the applicable manufacturer, a statement as to where the
class would be held (ie: on the Government's site or at a specific
off-site location), a listing of contractor needs if the class is held
on the Government's site, the start date of the first course and a
schedule for the remaining courses, past performance of at least two
references who have attending these courses in the past year, and
price. FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation -- Commercial Items applies with para
(a) reading: technical capability (proof of certification by the
manufacturer to teach these courses), start date of the courses, past
performance, and price. Preference will be given to a contractor who
can teach all of the courses, begin training no later than 28
September,and is located within commuting distance of not to exceed 50
miles from the main gate of Camp Pendleton if offering an off-site
course. All Contractors are remined that you must be registered in the
Central Contractor Registration database to be considered for award.
