NASA GSFC/WFF plans to issue a Request for Offers for Rehabilitation of Radar #18 Facility, A-41 at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, Virginia 23337. The scope of work for this project shall include, but is not limited to: The removal of shingle roofing system and felts; repair of existing roof trusses and tongue and groove roof sheathing; installation of new shingle roof system and new modified bitumen roof system with new rigid insulation and associated flashings; replacement of fascia boards and soffits; replacement of personnel doors and frames; replacement of suspended acoustical tile ceiling system, batt insulation, vinyl cove base, resilient floor tile, gypsum partitions; miscellaneous architectural painting; installation of exterior insulation and finish system; installation of new aluminum storefront entrance with doors; installation of new concrete handicap ramp and handrails and new concrete landings; plumbing modifications, modifications to the HVAC and roof ventilation; and modifications to the building's electrical system and lighting. The work shall be complete. It includes furnishing, as applicable, or may be required, all contractor's plant, equipment, safety devices, labor, tools, materials, supplies, and services, and performing all operations necessary for or incidental to a complete project in conformity with the drawings and as set forth in the various sections of specifications. This procurement is being conducted under NASA MidRange Procurement Procedures. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 270 calendar days after notice to proceed. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for the procurement is 1542. The corresponding size standard is $17,000,000.00. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 9/29/98 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 10/29/98. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO. Bid packages containing specifications and drawings will be available at a nonrefundable cost of $100.00. Requests are to be forwarded to: NASA/GSFC, Sandra S.
