synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through
Acquisition Circular 97-05. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to
Offerors-Commercial applies to this acquisition. FAR 52.212-2,
Evaluation-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The following
factors will be used to evaluate offers: 1) equipment meeting minimum
specification stated below 2) price and 3) delivery date. All offerors
shall include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror
Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its offer.
The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial
Items applies to this acquisition with no addendum attached. The clause
at 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement
Statutes Or Executive Orders Commercial Items; specifically 52.222-26,
Equal Opportunity, 52.222-35, Affirmative Action for Special Disabled
and Vietnem Era Veternas, 52.222-36, Affirmative Action For
Handicapped Workers, 52.222.37, Employment Reports on Special Disabled
Veterans and Veterans of the Vietnam Era and 52.225-21 Buy American
Act- North American Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act-Balance of
Payments Program. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small
business concerns. All offers are due at 47 CONS/LGCS 171 Alabama Ave,
Laughlin AFB, TX 78843 by 4:30 p.m. CST on 24 Sep 98. Point of contact

Quotations may be faxed to (830) 298-4178 prior to the close out time.
Request for quotation on one (1) Automatic Metal Densifying Machine
with the capability to automatically densify metal and produce a
finished metal brick suitable for recycling. The system must work on
oil filters, paint cans, food cans, beverage cans, and empty aerosol
cans. System must be computer controlled with self diagnostic
capability. The unit must also have an output chute to pass the brick
into a disposal bin. Specific specifications include: a) be less than
6' wide and 12' high; b) have an output dimension of less than a 10" by
10" by 10" block; c) have an operational capacity of 4 -- 55gallon
drums of uncrushed filters per hour minimum, d) produce a densified
block suitable for recycling; e) must have a waste contamination
shroud; f) automated pumping of waste into holding tank; g) have
secondary containment for waste; h) have a hydraulic oil cooler; i)
require minimal maintenance; j) have automated or power assisted
devices to facilitate rapid clean up and access for routine
maintenance; and k) have a crushing force of at least 90 tons. Posted
