The combined synopsis/solicitation for the purchase of an Electrospray Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer, which was posted in the Commerce Business Daily on September 3, 1998, is modified to clarify questions raised regarding the minimum specifications. The following are the questions and answers. Question No. 1 -- Item (1) requires "x and y directional control", of what? Answer -- Item (1) requires "x and y directional control of the electrospray probe; Question No. 2 -- Item (6) asks for a mass accuracy specificaiton "and also for +/-% myoglobin, what percent is required? This is essential to the specification, and cannot be met without defining a number for the % error. Please clarify. Answer -- Item (6) The Mass Accuracy is corrected as follows: External standard calibration accuracy within +/-0.01% (100 ppm) using the +3 ion of Angiotensin and also +/-0.01% for myoglobin; Question No. 3 -- Item (7) "using a 1 pin/ul solution", we believe should read "1 pmol/ul". Please confirm or clarify. Answer -- Item (7) should read "1 p mol/ul"; Question No. 4 -- Item (8) "glu-1-fibrinipepytide" should read "glu-1-fibrinopeptide". Please confirm or clarify or confirm. Answer -- Item (8) should read "Glu-1-Fibrinopeptide"; and Question No. 5 -- Item (9) "Florate should read "flow rate". Please confirm or clarify. Answer -- Item (9) should read "Flow Rate".
