This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products/service prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice constitutes the solicitation, price quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses identified in FAR subpart 12, FAC 97-3, as required. Standard industrial classification is 3496. This project will be procured using commercial item procedures. This procurement is for purchase and installation of a crossing gate at Poinsette Range with the following requirements: The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, transportation and materials to install a system of crossing signals consisting of warning bell, 2-way 12" flashing lights, barrier gates, and automatic controls to be furnished and installed at the Poinsette Gunnery Range 12 miles south of Shaw AFB SC. The system of automatic crossing equipment shall be supplied by a manufacturer that specializes in the design and fabrication of equipment of the type specified. The system shall be designed to operate from a single-phase nominal 120/240-volt, 60 Hertz, 30 amp service. Installation of a meter loop will not be required. The work to be done consists of designing, furnishing, and installing type C, AC-DC track circuits to provide warning system control, track circuits shall include a stick release timer, termination rectifiers and all required hardware. The signals shall be operated by a remote switch; located approximately 1,200 feet away in the Range Control Tower. A 24-hour minimum standby DC power supply with battery chargers shall be incorporated into the automatic crossing equipment. Delivery is to Poinsette Range, SC.
