commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS
ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED.
Responses shall reference "Request for Proposal No. DE-RP04-98AL78309".
This combined synopsis/solicitation document and incorporated
provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition
Circular 97-05. Although this requirement is anticipated to be awarded
under full and open competition; the U.S. Department of Energy,
Albuquerque Operations Office (DOE/AL) reserves the right to award on
a 100% Small Business Set-Aside utilizing the Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) Code 5099 with a corresponding qualifying size
standard of 100 employees (indicates maximum allowed for a concern,
including its affiliates, to be considered small). Offerors responding
should indicate whether or not they are small business, small
woman-owned business, small disadvantaged business or 8(a). The DOE-AL
intends to purchase the following one (1) line item: Item 1 -- 1 Lot
(equal to 85,000 rounds), "Ranger SXT" .45 Caliber Ammunition, 230
grain. Delivery for the item shall be made no later than 30 days after
receipt of order. The delivery and acceptance point is U.S. Department
of Energy, c/o Sandia National Laboratories, Kirtland Air Force
Base-East, Attn: 6000 Igloos Areas, 1575 Eubank, SE, Albuquerque, NM
87185-5800. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. All commercial
provisions and FAR clauses referenced in this solicitation are

http://www.arnet.gov/far/. FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors --
Commercial, apply to this acquisition. Only those Offerors who can
furnish the item will be considered, no substitute items will be
accepted. Award will be made on the basis of the lowest evaluated price
of proposals meeting the requirements of this combined
synopsis/solicitation. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the
provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications
-- Commercial Items with the offer. The clauses at FAR 52.212-4
