The US Marshals Service (USMS) will be seeking competitive proposals to purchase a suitable replacement for its existing Sabreliner fleet following appropriation of funds in Fiscal Year 1999 for this purpose. The synopsis is being issued at this point to establish a bidders list for the solicitation. The solicitation will not be issued until such time as funds have been appropriated for this purchase (most probably in Fiscal Year 1999). The aircraft should have, but not be limited to the following characteristics: Passenger seating capacity of 10; non stop flight range of 1500 nautical miles with National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) reserves at maximum payload and normal criuse speed; externally serviceable lavatory unit; auxiliary power unit capable of providing ground air conditioning and total electrical power; dual nose and main wheel landing gear; single point refueling; minimum true airspeed cruise of 400 knots; minimum cabin volume of 550 cubic feet; main cabin entry door minimum of 24 inches width; minimum cabin width of 5.25 feet; and minimum cabin height of 5.5 feet.
