The Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters (NAVAIR) has a requirement and intends to issue a fixed price sole source contract with Lockheed Martin Control Systems, Binghamton, NY for the follow-on production and delivery of between 18 and 100 Digital Flight Data Computers (DFDC) for S-3 type/model/series (T/M/S) aircraft. These DFDC's are to be provided as Organizational (O) level replacements for the obsolete analog Flight Data Computers currently utilized in the S-3 T/M/S aircraft. LMCSC is the orginal equipment manufacturer (OEM) and sole integrator of the S-3A Weapon System. Lockheed Martin Control Systems is the only company which has access to the necessary engineering drawings for this action, is proficient with both the modification and the aircraft, and can provide the necessary modifications in the required timely manner.
