(407)381-8818 The Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation Command
(STRICOM) and the U.S. Army Aviation Center's Directorate of Training,
Doctrine, and Simulation (DOTDS) are seeking to explore technology
available on Helmet Mounted and Retinal Imaging Displays (HMD). We
invite all interested parties to participate in a series of
demonstrations designed to allow Government personnel to explore
current state-of-the-art HMD technology. The Government's end-state is
to determine how the most current HMD technology can be applied to
future Virtual Flight Simulation and Simulator programs. All interested
parties should coordinate their demonstration dates through John
Purser, the STRICOM Contract Specialist for this announcement. He can

STRICOM and DOTDS will host the demonstrations at the Aviation Test Bed
(AVTB) at Fort Rucker, AL. The demonstration window is 15 October 1998
through 15 March 1999. The demonstrations will last for approximately
five days. The first two days will consist of scenarios executed on
fully reconfigurable experimental devices (FREDS). The following three
days will consist of exploratory examinations designed to determine
the technology application. Limit your responses to this notice to 15
pages. It should include all pertinent information. This includes POC,
address of company, pertinent phone numbers, brief history of company,
and brief description of the system(s). All information will be
safeguarded at the appropriate level of confidentiality. Please submit
