The contractor will be responsible for providing software and hardware maintenance for the period 01 OCT 1998 through 30 SEP 1999. The following items which require maintenance are considered commercial type items and therefore it is anticipated that simplified acquisition procedures will be utilized: EMC Maintenance for Software to consist of: Three preferred software service for the ESBBAU6 ESBBAU6B1 Epoch Server for Solaris; Three Preferred software service for the FSS-200 FSS200B1 Veritas VxFS Filesystem Workgroup Server License; Three preferred software service for the ELZ ELZB1 Epoch Library for the Disc Optical Library; Three Preferred Software Service for the ELAI ELA1B1 Epoch Library for the Exabyte 480 Tape Library; Three preferred software service for the EVAI ELA1B1 Epoch Save/Disaster Recovery for the Exabyte 480. EMC Hardware Maintenance of a EMC 3500 Symmetrix Unit to include: One 512MB Cace/Model MCACHE512; Six Open Storage Director 4 Port FWD/SCSI, Model MOSD4; One SYM 3000 1024MB Cache UPG/Model 3000-CACHE 10; One Symmetrix 3500 1CDA 1114 2024/Model M3500-9128. No RFP is available for competitive bidding; however, interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement, to include descriptive literature and pricing, within 15 days of this announcement to the contact person listed above. This announcement is not a request for competitive proposals; however all proposals received by the date identified above will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
