jgarcia@lanl.gov. The University of California, which operates the Los
Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the Department of
Energy, solicits interest from companies interested in obtaining an
exclusive license to develop and market a unique set of technologies
related to neutron guides. Neutron guides are used to transport low
energy neutron from research neutron sources to neutron
instrumentation. The new technology concerns a new method for the
fabrication of such guides. Interested organizations must possess
existing capabilities in manufacturing, marketing and support services
in the domestic marketplace. Any organization with interests in the
above mentioned areas must respond with a written statement of intent
which addresses, in detail, the following: (1) Must provide a
description of the organization's business, business goals, and a
description of the Board of Directors, Officers, and technical staff;
(2) must demonstrate a strong and successful background in scientific
equipment, manufacturing, and sales; (3) must describe technical
expertise related to precision machining, glass component fabrication,
sputtering of thin films and multilayers, and precision assembly of
optical and/or glass components; (4) must describe and demonstrate
manufacturing capabilities and experience relevant to neutron guides;
(5) must describe and demonstrate test and measurement capability in
the area of neutron reflectometery and include a description of neutron
reflectometery instrumentation available to the organization; (6) must
describe and demonstrate marketing capabilities relevant to neutron
instrumentation; (7) and must show financial resources (e.g., annual
report) and motivation for participating in this program. The statement
must address this information in detail or the organization will not be
