W -- HELICOPTER RENTAL FOR GOVERNMENT SITE VISIT TO CRASH SITE, VAN HORN, TEXAS SOL F41652-98-R0074 DUE 091598 POC Mr. Ronald Miller, (915) 696-3685/(915) 696-2284 Contractor shall supply all labor, supplies, equipment, transportation and support to fly by helicopter, 6 DOD members and approximately 15 to 20 civilian contractors to crash site location. It is required that the company is a licensed and insured AIR TAXI Service. Helicopter must be able to transport as minimum 9 passengers at takeoff. The helicopter will be required to be on site in Van Horn, Texas (local airfield) NLT 1700 hrs Central Standard Time, 20 Sep 98. The commander of the helicopter will meet with Mr. Miller and transport him to the following GPS location 3028.36 N 10441.25 W, this location is approximately 36 nautical miles SSE of Van Horn, Texas. The purpose of the 20 Sep 98 flight is to locate suitable landing site for helicopter and then return to Van Horn, Texas for over night stay. The helicopter will be serviced and preflight checklist completed and ready for takeoff on 21 Sep 98, NLT 0800 hrs Central Standard Time. There are approximately 20 25 passengers that require transport to the above-mentioned GPS location. Mr. Miller will advise the helicopter commander as to those individuals allowed to be transported to the crash site. The helicopter commander will remain at the crash site as directed by Mr. Miller. It is estimated that there will be approximately 8 hours service required 21 Sep 98, of the 8 hours it is estimated that 4 will be flying hours and 4 ground time at the crash site. It will be the responsibility of the helicopter commander to file all appropriate flight plans with proper authorities.
