The Federal Bureau of Prisons requires a contractor to renovate Shelby Housing Unit, and install Fire Exit Safety Stairways in Buildings B & D, located at the Federal Correctional Institution, Memphis, TN. A base bid, to include five seperate line items, will be required and include the following: renovate 104 inmate cells; renovate core area of unit; replace 104 cell doors and frames; renovate to meet Life Safety Code standards, and installation of Fire Exit Safety Stairways in Buildings B & D. In addition, the following add alternate items will be bid, as follows: painting, floor tiles, skylight removal and patching, range plumbing fixtures, range HVAC equipment, and rooftop HVAC units. Award will be based on price. The magnitude is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The projected solicitation issuance date is 09/30/98. The projected bid opening is 10/30/98. The sic code is 1542.
