AUGUSTINE & MANTANZAS INLET; & DISPOSAL AREA SJ-1 OFFLOADING & RECONSTRUCTION, ST JOHNS COUNTY, FLORIDA SOL DACW17-98-B-0032 DUE 111798 POC Contract Specialist Wanda Cruz (904) 232-2083 (Site Code DACW17) Work consists of a combination of maintenance dredging of the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) in two separate areas, the dredging of a shoal at the entrance to Salt Run, and the offloading of material from the upland disposal area SJ-1 with subsequent reconstruction of the disposal area. Contract performance period 682 calendar days after receipt of NTP for the Base Bid portion of work. Options A, B, C, D, E and F each will add an additional 5 calendar days to the contract performance period. The scopes of work for each of the four project features are as follows:(1) A large shoal area in the IWW near the St. Augustine Inlet will be dredged to a required depth of 12 feet plus 2 feet allowable overdepth. Total quantity to be dredged is approximately 166,000 cubic yards. The first order of dredged material placement (approximately 136,000 cubic yards) will be the construction of a dune and beach disposal area at Anastasia State Park between approximately 100 feet north of DNR monument R-135A and DNR monumentR-138A (construction of the dune shall precede any beach fill in front of the dune). The remaining material (approximately 30,000 cubic yards) will be placed in the designated beach disposal area between DNR monuments R-145.1 and R-148.1.(2) A large shoal area in the entrance to Salt Run near the St. Augustine Inlet will be dredged to a required depth of 6 feet plus 1 foot allowable overdepth. Total quantity to be dredged is approximately 170,000 cubic yards, which will be divided into a base bid area of approximately 49,000 cubic yards, and six optional bid areas, 5 of which are approximately 20,000 cubic yards each and one of approximately 21,000 cubic yards. The first order of dredged material placement will be to complete the design template for the designated beach disposal area between DNR monuments R-145.1 and R-148.1. Any remaining material will be placed oceanward of the newly constructed dune in the designated beach disposal area between DNR monuments R-135A and R-138A.(3) The IWW between Station 20+00 Cut SJ-59 and Station 30+00 Cut SJ-61 will be dredged to a required depth of 12 feet plus 2 feet allowable overdepth. Total quantity to be dredged is approximately 222,000 cubic yards. All dredged material will be placed in the designated beach disposal area between DNR monuments R-200 and R-208.(4) Approximately 765,000 cubic yards will be removed from Disposal Area SJ-1 and will be placed in the designated beach disposal area between DNR monuments R-200 and R-208. Upon completion of the material offloading, the disposal area will be reconstructed to the lines and grades as indicated in the contract P&S. Cost Estimate is over $10 Million.
