ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE INFORMATION SHARING INITIATIVE (ISI) SOLICITATION
NUMBER TFF-98-018 In a continuing effort to enhance General Services
Administration (GSA) procurement opportunities for small, small
disadvantaged, and women-owned small businesses, the Office of
Enterprise Development (OED), in conjunction with the Federal
Technology Service FEDCAF, will be conducting a networking session
under the Solicitation Number TFF-98-018, for the development,
deployment and management of advanced information systems within the
Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). The FBI, with this acquisition,
will hire an industry partner to modernize its computing infrastructure
by applying business process reengineering concepts. ISI will employ
three categories of function: (1) distributed document and image
processing and electronic information management; (2) analytical
capabilities and intelligence processing; (3) and multilevel
information security and data sharing. Although this is a single award,
we anticipate various multiple subcontracting opportunities under this
acquisition. The networking session will allow potential prime
contractors, large, small, small disadvantaged, and women-owned small
businesses the opportunity to come together and exchange business
interests with the hope of establishing a contracting relationship
under the ISI acquisition. ISI PROCUREMENT IS EXPECTED TO BE LESS THAN
$500 MILLION DOLLARS. TO PROVIDE THE MAXIMUM OPPORTUNITY FOR SMALL
BUSINESSES TO PARTICIPATE AND RECEIVE AWARD CONSIDERATION FOR THIS
ACQUISITION, THE STANDARD INDUSTRIAL CLASSIFICATION CODE FOR THE
PROCUREMENT IS 7379. TO ENSURE THAT THE POTENTIAL PRIME CONTRACTORS AND
THE INTERESTED LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS REPRESENTATIVES HAVE EFFECTIVE
COMMUNICATIONS FOR ESTABLISHING PARTNERSHIPS, TEAMING ARRANGEMENTS OR
SUBCONTRACTING AGREEMENTS, ONLY THE FIRST 100 FIRMS TO REGISTER WILL
BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS NETWORKING SESSION. The networking
session is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., September 30, 1998,

WASHINGTON, DC 20405 (202) 501-1021 All businesses wishing to
participate in the networking session should register via Internet at

firm (large or small) planning to compete as a prime contractor,
interested in making a presentation at the networking session during

September 28, 1998. ALL INTERESTED FIRMS ARE NOTIFIED THAT THIS
NETWORKING SESSION IS NOT A "PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE" AND THAT NO
TECHNICAL QUESTIONS REGARDING THE SOLICITATION WILL BE ADDRESSED AT THE
