inmawj@inel.gov. INTERNET SOFTWARE FOR 3-D MECHANICAL DESIGN
COLLABORATION. Contact Mr. John Jenkins or Mr. Bill Inman. Potential
technology development and licensing opportunity with Lockheed Martin
Idaho Technologies Company (LMITCO), the prime contractor for the
Department of Energy at the Idaho National Engineering and
Environmental Laboratory (INEEL). LMITCO has acquired rights to use and
further develop a new technology that enables inexpensive yet
sophisticated 3-D engineering design collaboration over the Intranet or
Internet. The technology may be ideally suited for the needs of
Continuous Acquisition and Lifecycle Support (CALS) initiatives and/or
Integrated Data Environments (IDE) between contractors and customers.
The technology was originally developed to handle complex solids
modeling applications in the aerospace and automotive industries. It
incorporates advanced features that are not currently available from
other leading Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems: 1) Built-In
Configuration Control and part serialization, 2) Topology Checking and
Verification, 3) True Collaborative Design from anywhere in the world,
and 4) Inexpensive pay per use pricing. The system has been piloted
over the Internet with three major U.S. Universities. LMITCO is
soliciting a written indication of interest from government or industry
partners who would consider funding their own activities and
implementing a collaborative pilot project. This is not an opportunity
to provide goods or services to LMITCO or the Department of Energy.
This Request for Interest (RFI) will close to response 30 days after
publication. Interested parties should send a description of their
organization and their ability to pilot this technology to the address
below. Contact John Jenkins, Project Manager, Advanced Engineering
Development Laboratory, LMITCO, P.O. Box 1625, Idaho Falls, ID
