PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING SIGNIFICANT CHANGES: WE HAVE CHANGED THE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS SOLICITATION FROM FIFTEEN STATES TO WITHIN A 75 MILE RADIUS OF GREAT LAKES, IL. CONSEQUENTLY, WE HAVE DELETED THE ADMINISTRATION HEADQUARTERS BUILDING, NAVAL RESERVE READINESS COMMAND, MINNEAPOLIS, MN AND REPLACED IT WITH A PROJECT ENTITLED APPLIED INSTRUCTION BUILDING. The scope of the Applied Instruction Building, Great Lakes, Illinois includes design and construction of central heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for two existing, adjacent glass roombuildings including all incidental related work to provide complete and useable systems. Building 616 is approximately 133,155 square feet and consists of three floors of classroom, electronic laboratory, and administrative space. Building 617 is approximately 33,270 square feet and consists of two floors of classroom, electronic laboratory and administrative space. This project includes phasing of construction and a requirement for providing temporary classroom trailers. The Navy anticipates hazardous material abatement, including lead and asbestos. The contract requires window units serving a large portion of the existing facilities to be removed. To accommodate the new HVAC systems, the contract requires architectural and electrical modifications. This project has a magnitude of $5M to $10M. Posted 09/14/98 (W-SN249411). (0257)
