Robert McMinn, rmcminn@pica.army.mil. The US Army TACOM-ARDEC
Acquisition Center and the Product Manager for Paladin/FAASV intend to
issue a Draft Request for Proposals(DRFP) regarding Fleet Management
concepts for the M109 Family of Vehicles(FOV). The Army plans to
investigate the integration of the M109 FOV supply, engineering and
limited life cycle support functions by having one focal point for all
M109 FOV life cycle weapons system support for secondary end items.
The purpose of this DRFP is to solicit industry comments/questions and
to gauge interest by both potential prime and subcontractors in a
formal requirement for this pilot program. THIS IS ONLY A DRAFT
SOLICITATION. The Government is not obligated to issue a formal
solicitation or award a contract on the basis of this action. The
Government will NOT pay for any information submitted in response to
this DRFP. There will be no attachments included with the DRFP. Actual
distribution of technical data and other program documentation will
occur after foreign disclosure requirements are identified,
distribution statement reviews and potential proprietary issues have
been determined and a procedure established for distribution with the
formal RFP, if issued. The Government prefers for all responses to this
DRFP to be submitted electronically. A procedure for responding is
included in the Executive Summary included with the DRFP. The
Government anticipates that an Industry Day will be held after the
closing of comments on the DRFP. The date, time and place have yet to
be determined. A special notice will be placed in the CBD providing
specifics when determined. Please note the THERE WILL BE NO HARD COPIES
OF THIS SOLICITATION ISSUED; NO REQUESTS FOR SAME WILL BE HONORED. It
is anticipated that the DRFP will be issued on or before 22 Sept 1998.
