This is an advance Information package for rehabilitation of existing turbines, generators and replacement of the excitation system and governors. The Scope of Work will include rehabilitation of four identical 36,111 kVA (original rating) vertical type hydro-generator units. Turbines are of the Kaplan type manufactured by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company. Generators are of the umbrella type manufactured by the Elliot Company. Work items will include (1) rehab of turbine runners; (2) rewind of generators; (3) installation of new static excitation systems; (4) replacement of mechanical governors with digital electronic governors; (5) conversion of neutral grounding to high impedance grounding system; and (6) inspection, replacement, and/or rehabilitation of various mechanical and electrical assemblies and components.
