COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 17,1998 PSA#2182ROADSHOW VII The US Army Soldier systems Command is hosting the US Army
Materiel Command Roadshow VII at the Ramada Rolling Green Inn and
Conference Center, 311 Lowell Street, Andover, MA on 20-22 October
1998. The Army Roadshow program has been a great success. Over the past
few years, DoD and industry personnel have taken the opportunity to
learn about the Army's acquisition reform thrust by attending these
roadshows. The roadshow program serves as an educational tool to aid in
streamlining the acquisition process and yield cost reductions within
the Army and DoD. Who should attend: Everyone who designs, develops,
tests, buys, supports, requires, or manages Army materiel. Please join
us. Be a part of the multi-disciplined workshop teams that will
provide synergistic thinking to attack the costs of ownership. Roadshow
Highlights: Hear senior Army executive's insights on reducing Total
Cost of Ownership and significant developments in the partnering
program. Learn what drives ownership costs during the requirements,
acquisition, and sustainment phases of the life cycle. Analyze and
discuss effective techniques for reducing Total cost of Ownership for
both new and legacy systems. Play the Total Ownership Cost Game to see
the results of your efforts using a simulation. Participate in focus
groups to identify barriers and enablers for techniques to reduce cost
of ownership in your commodity command. There is no fee to attend
Roadshow VII, but space is limited and registration is required.
