The site, which was formerly used for disposal of dredged material from Wilmington Harbor, is located on an island in the Cape Fear River in Brunswick and New Hanover Counties, NC, approximately 5 miles downstream from the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge. The Eagle Island North Cell Disposal Area,approximately 4.5 miles upstream, will be available for disposal of material removed. All work must be completed not later than three hundred sixty (360) calendar days after Contractor receipt of NOTICE TO PROCEED. Estimated cost range of the project is $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000. Advertising date is scheduled for 5 October 1998 with bid opening on or about 5 NOV 1998. AVAILABILITY & CHARGE: The Plans & Specifications for this solicitation have been placed on CD-ROM and will be provided free of charge and should not be returned. The CD-ROM contains simple windows viewing application and two commercial software applications. All applications contained on the CD-ROM can be run from the CD-ROM. No installation is required. The recommended minimum software requirement is Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT.
