Y -- U.S. CAPITOL DOME REHABILITATION PHASE I SOL IFB No. 981248 DUE 111998 POC Contact Cynthia Bennett, (202) 226-1935 The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking a list of responsible Contractors to solicit for a project, "U.S. Capitol Dome Rehabilitation Phase I", Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 981248. To be included on the list and to be provided a copy of IFB No. 981248, interested firms must provide a written request to: Architect of the Capitol, Procurement Division, 2nd & D Streets, S.W., Washington D.C. 20515. Requests must include company name, contact name, address, telephone number and facsimile number. In developing its list of responsible bidders, the AOC intends to establish each bidder's ability to obtain performance and payment bonds. It is estimated that the value of the work to be performed for the project will exceed $5 million. To obtain a copy of the IFB firms must provide with their requests, certifications from their sureties that the latter will issue to the bidder a performance bond in the amount of at least $5 million and a payment bond in the amount of $2.5 million for the work. The rehabilitation of the dome will include several areas of specialized work such as; lead abatement of all surfaces of the Interstitial Space, and re-painting of these surfaces. Written requests, together with required information concerning the firm's ability to obtain performance and payment bonds may be sent via facsimile on 202/225-3221, to the attention of Cynthia Bennett, not later than 1:00 p.m., September 25, 1998.
