This is a combined synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation of this requirement, quotations are being requested and a written quotation will not be issued. This quotation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-06. The Television-Audio Support Activity proposes to procure eight (8) each TV Stereo Generator, second-generation ultra-stable BTSC (stereo-audio) systems; including: digital baseband encoder, peak-indicating meters for input, circuit and output levels; includes group delay equalization of low-pass filters; 10 inch rack-mountable; 4RU high; for use with ORBAN 8182A Optimod-TV System; power rqmts 115/230VAC, 50/60HZ; Orban P/N 8185A; six (6) each audio processor chassis (OPTIMOD); consists of: Orban 8182A analog audioprocessor less left/right channel, compressor, and control boards; comes with HF limiting stereo generator and left/right filtering; 19-inch rack-mountable, 4RU high; power rqmts: 110VAC, 50/60HZ, Orban P/N 8182AT; two (2) each automatic gain control (studio chassis accessory); provides protection before the station-transmitter link; 19-inch rack mountable; 2RU high; for us with Orban Optimod-TV System; power rqmts 115/230VAC, 50/60HZ; Orban P/N 8182AST; two (2) each audio processor; analog; left/right audio input; audio output; left and right or sum/difference selectable with internal jumpers; 10K OHM load impedance; bandwidth; 15.4KHZ; provides automatic gain control, compression, and signal limiting; user-adjustable gain riding over 25DB range; for use with Orban Optimod-TV system; power rqmts: 115/230VAC, 50/60HZ; Orban 8182A. The above cited manufacturer model numbers are known to meet the specifications, however, they do not constitute the establishment of a standard of quality, nor are to be considered the only product which will meet the specifications. Offerors proposing to supply Manufacturers/Models other than those specified in this notice are required to submit, with their quotations, specification data sheets of proposed models sufficient to enable the Government to determine their technical acceptability with the specifications stated above.
