COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION. NO SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. THIS
ANNOUNCEMENT IS RFQ-98-3681 The Social Security Administration has a
requirement for a contractor to supply about 9,252 fluorescent 5' tubes
(F40T17CW-IS). The Contractor shall furnish fluorescent tubes to fill
all delivery orders at the Social Security Adminustration building at
the Main-Complex in Woodlawn, Md. These fluorescent 5' tubes shall be
delivered F.O.B. destination to the Social Security Administration,
6401 Security Blvd., Operations Building (Loading Dock), Baltimore,
Maryland, in four equal shipments. It is anticipated that the 1st
shipment shall be in the fourth week of September, 1998. The 2nd
shipment shall be in the second week of January, 1999. The 3rd shipment
shall be in the second week of April, 1999. The final shipments shall
be in the second week of July, 1999. All shipments shall arrive at SSA,
no earlier than 7 a.m. and no later than 1:00 p.m. These fluorescent 5'
tubes shall be shipped on standard wooden pallets (40" X 48").
Fluorescent tubes shall be stacked on pallets no higher than 72". Each
pallet shall be shrink-wrapped. No pallet shall be stacked on top of
another. Single stacking only. SSA will inspect each shipment. Any
damaged boxes will be rejected. FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors
-- Commercial Items, (AUG 1998) is incorporated by reference. The FAR
52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items (Oct 1997) is incorporated by
reference. The following factor shall be used to evaluate offers-price.
A written notice of award or acceptance of offer, mailed or otherwise
furnished to the successful offeror within the time for acceptance
specified in the offer, shall result in a binding contract without
further action by either party. Offerors are advised to include a
completed copy of the provision at FAR Part 52.212-3, Offeror
Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items, with their
offer. The provisions at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and
Conditions-Commercial Items (APR 1998) is incorporated by reference.
The following provisions at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions
Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items,
(JUN 1998) apply to this acquisition: (a) (1), (a) (2), and (b) (6)
through (b) (10), (d) and (e). A copy of the above provisions/clauses
may be obtained from the contracting point of contact. This requirement
is a 100% set-a-side for Small Business. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) code for this acquisition is 2599. Small Business
standard size is 500 employees. This request for quotations and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 97-06. Response due date for RFQ-98-3681 shall be
Tuesday, September 23, 1998 by close of business 5:00 p.m. Eastern
Standard Time, addressed to the Social Security Administration, Office
