to contract with Atlantic Microwave (formerly Premier Microwave) for
the re-manufacture of the following: NSN: 5915-01-458-4731, 2 each
Filter, Bandpass, Waveguide, 2768 Mhz, p/n 2235-A-2768; NSN:
5915-01-458-4734, 2 each Filter, Bandpass, Waveguide, 2800 Mhz, p/n
2235-A-2800; NSN: 5915-01-458-4735, 2 each Filter, Bandpass, Waveguide,
2950 Mhz, p/n 2235-A-2950. The original design and configuration is
proprietary to Atlantic Microwave. The original items were incorporated
in the National Weather Service Nexrad Radar System developed by the
Unisys Corporation in 1988. The Government does not have complete
technical data. This item is being purchased for the National Weather
Service repair program in support of the Nexrad Radar System. The
intended procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends
to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1).
The Government knows of only one qualified source authorized to
provide the items referenced. The Government does not have
specifications and drawings as the item is proprietary to Atlantic
Microwave. The spares will be delivered to the National Weather
Service, Kansas City, on an FOB Destination basis. This is not a
request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this
time. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to
competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the
discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this
announcement will normally be considered solely for the purpose of
conducting a competitive procurement. If no qualified responses are
received, the Government intends to contract with Atlantic Microwave
for the items required. Interested parties shall submit in writing;
their name, address, point of contact, telephone number, and point of
contact for a business or other government agency for which it has
previously manufactured or provided the item. Interested parties shall
also submit a brief capabilitystatement indicating their capability to
manufacture this type of item. This information shall be submitted to
the address stated herein or may be faxed to 816-426-7530, Attn: Chuck
Hughes. Interested parties who fail to provide the information the
requested will be considered not responsive to this announcement and no
information will be provided. All inquiries must be received no later
than 15 calendar days from date of publication of this announcement.
The anticipated award date shall be no less than 60 calendar days from
the date of this announcement. The Standard Industrial Classification
Code is 3679. The small business size standard is 500 employees. This
is not a small business set-aside. This acquisition is being conducted
