The Office of Law Enforcement Technology Commercialization (OLETC) was established by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) to assist in the commercialization and utilization of U.S. technology and innovation for use by the Law Enforcement and Corrections (LEC) community. OLETC is a non-profit organization, located on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University. OLETC is currently assisting in the commercialization of a product called the TM System. The TM System was developed by a nuclear scientist as a targeting system to improve safety and training in a live firearms environment. The system operates remotely and provides an instantaneous electronic recording of the targeting score, bullet impact velocity, flight paths, coordinates and energy without having to physically examine the target. The technology has matured to a prototyped demonstration stage. OLETC is seeking a commercialization partner to license, manufacture, and distribute the TM System into the LEC marketplace.
