to contact the POC, hallen@cc.tacom.army.mil. This is not a request
for proposal. This is a survey for information and planning purposes
only. The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Research,
Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC), on behalf of the U.S.
Army Program Manager -- Heavy Tactical Vehicles (PM-HTV) is conducting
a Technology Survey. The Technology Survey will be to ascertain what
supporting technologies/subsystems will be available to support a
Future Heavy Tactical Truck (FHTT). These technologies may address
powertrain, vehicle structure, suspension, and crew environment/vehicle
interface. We are looking for technologies which cover the spectrum
from current state-of-the-art technologies to far term leap ahead
technologies. Data describing the technology/subsystem should include
schedule, cost, performance data, and any other product information
available. Fielding date of the FHTT is projected to be 2008-2010.
Preliminary requirements for the vehicle are mobility improved over the
current fleet, lower weight, increased survivability, and payload
capacity between 10 and 20 tons. Although the FHTT will be commercially
based, it will be pushing the envelope of traditional military tactical
vehicle roles and missions. Please respond by December 1, 1998. To
obtain additional information, contact Nancelee Halle (810)574-5365,
e-mail address: hallen@cc.tacom.army.mil, or Larry DuBay (810)
