Quotation for remedial and on-call maintenance for Government-owned
Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) which supports a wide
variety of technical services offered by the Defense Technical
Information Center (DTIC). The resulting award will pertain to the
following equipment: CYGNET MODEL 1803-28 EXPANDABLE OPTICAL JUKEBOX
CONTAINING TWO ATG/CYGNET MODEL GD-9001S DISK DRIVES AND OVER 50
ATG/CYGNET 12-INCH OPTICAL PLATTERS. A one year maintenance contract is
required for seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. The prices in
the contract shall include all parts, transportation, travel and labor
for the performance of remedial and on-call maintenance services seven
days a week, twenty-four hours a day. The contract cost will also
include the physical cleaning of the optical platters contained within
the Jukebox on a semi-annual basis (two times during the one year
period). This service will be performed on dates and times mutually
agreed upon by both the contractor and DTIC. Contractor shall provide
on-site maintenance service with a 4-hour response time at a fixed
monthly charge, to be shown in the contract. A 4-hour maximum response
time will be required in each situation. All equipment covered shall
be restored to a fully operational status or replaced with a fully
operational,functional substitute within eight(8) hours after
notification that the equipment is inoperable. If a machine remains
inoperable after eight (8) hours from the initiation of a formal
service call, downtime credits may be applied. Contractor shall furnish
a malfunction incident report to DTIC upon completion of each
maintenance call. There shall be no additional charges for replacement
parts except in those instances when the defective parts cannot be
removed from the installation and returned to the contractor for
security reasons. Only new or used, remanufactured and warranted as new
standard parts in effecting repairs shall be used. All parts other than
new shall be identified as such and certified by the contractor. Parts
swapping between operable and inoperable systems components shall not
be used as a procedure for fault isolation. NOTE: If either disk drive
requires off-site repair, the Contractor will be required to install an
operational replacement drive prior to taking the defective drive out
for repair. All maintenance services shall be performed by fully
qualified personnel, or trainees under the direct supervision of fully
qualified maintenance personnel. The Contracting Officer and/or DTIC
may require documentation showing proof that any Contractor maintenance
personnel meets these minimum training/experience requirements.
