A -- BIDDER'S CONFERENCE FOR ACQUISITION ENTITLED "SILICON CARBIDE (SIC) SUBSTRATES PROJECT" The Defense Production Act Title III Program Office is planning a new procurement to improve the domestic merchant capacity of SiC (Silicon Carbide) Substrates, entitled, "Silicon Carbide (SiC) Substrates". The principle objectives of this program are to improve the quality, size, consistency and availability of SiC substrates while concurrently reducing the cost. The project will consist of one phase lasting approximately 36 months. This phase will focus on production process improvement, capacity expansion, material characterization/qualification and strengthening the overall business viability of the merchant SiC substrate producer(s). This is not a request for proposal, but a notice of a Bidder's Conference to be held on 14 October 1998 beginning at 0830 at Wright-Patterson AFB Ohio 45433, Area B, in Building 22B, Room 213C. Also, potential offerors may meet privately with the Government Team to discuss specific competition-sensitive questions they may have on the procurement.
