COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 22,1998 PSA#218535TH ANNUAL AOC INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM AND CONVENTION The AOC will
once again present its premier annual event -- The 35th International
Symposium and Convention. This year, the convention heads to Virginia
Beach, Virginia with the theme -- Joint and Coalition Warfighting in
the Information Age. LTG William Campbell, USA, Directorate of
Information Systems for C4, Office of the Secretary of the Army, is the
symposium chairman. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Paul G. Kaminski,
former Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology. The
preliminary program includes general session presentations from
speakers such as the Honorable Art Money, OSD/C3I, MG Charles Thomas,
USA, CofS, TRADOC; RADM Mayo, USN, N6B; and Lt Gen Vesely, USAF, AVCS.
Day two speakers include: LTG Keane, USA, Deputy CINC, ACOM; BG
Gottardi, USA, XVIII Airborne Corps; VADM Fallon, USN Commander, 2nd
Fleet; and Maj Gen Dick, USAF, Vice Commander 12th AF; Joint
Warfighting Center; and a perspective from Australia. Also scheduled to
speak are representatives from the Land Information Warfare Activity,
Fleet Information Warfare Center, Air Force Information Warfare Center,
and RADM Steffens, SOCOM -- SOIO. Day three will be broken into two
concurrent tracks. Track one speakers will focus on Overcoming Barriers
to Joint/Coalition Warfighting. Topics to be discussed include Joint
Interoperability, LTG William Campbell; Information Assurance, J6;
Global Broadcast System Implementation, J6; Managing Warfighter
Requirements, MG Cosumano, Jr., USA, ODCSOPS; French International
Perspective, Col Bruno Berthet, MOD; Revolution in Military Affairs,
Gen Riscassi, USA (ret.); and the United Kingdom International
Perspective, Air Commodore Horwood, Commandant Air Warfare Center.
Track two will feature technical papers on topics such as the Return of
the Vacuum Tube By Tom Webb, CPI TWTP Div.; Advanced Infrared
Countermeasures by the Air Force Research Lab; Battlespace Integrated
Concept Emulation Program by CW2 Matt Marryman and Joseph Aletta, U.S.
Army CECOM; Joint Modeling and SimulationSystem by Cindy Porubansky,
JMASS Program Office; and T-RECS UAV Payloads by Dennis Vaccaro,
Northrop Grumman. Exhibits featuring technical displays and products
are intended to serve as the perfect complement to the symposium. A
