The work of this project consists of maintenance dredging of the Fivemile River Federal Navigation Channel. The work will provide, an 8 foot deep channel at Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW). Approximately 60,000 cubic yards of silt and clay material will be removed using a mechanical dredge and scows. Material dredged from the low portion of the channel will be disposed of at the Western Long Island Sound Disposal Site, and the material dredged from the upper portion will be disposed of at the Central Long Island Sound Disposal Site. This project is 100% Set-Aside for Small Business Concerns. The estimated cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Work shall be completed within 90 calendar days after receipt of a notice to proceed. Plans and Specifications will be available on or about 10/14/98 at a cost of $15.00 per set.
